- Weather - Where will the ceremony and reception happen if it rains, and how will guests stay comfortable in heat or wind?

- Vendor options - Which vendors can you choose, and does the venue require particular caterers or rental partners?
- The full budget - What's included, and what will you need to add for rentals, lighting, transportation, or a weather backup?
- The flow - Walk the route from ceremony to cocktails to dinner. Can you picture your guests enjoying each part?
Magnolia Plantation & Gardens
If your saved photos are full of gardens and moss-draped oaks, Magnolia Plantation & Gardens belongs on your list. The Ashley River gives the ceremony setting a lovely backdrop, and the grounds offer plenty of inspiration for portraits. It's easy to picture soft florals here, with the trees and greenery doing much of the decorating.
The Carriage House brings indoor space into the mix, which is helpful when you're thinking through the reception and weather plan. On a tour, ask how your guest count could work across the indoor and outdoor areas, including dinner and dancing. The Island House
For couples who keep saving waterfront wedding photos, The Island House is an easy one to get excited about. This Johns Island venue sits beside the Stono River, with wide water views and a private-island setting. Picture guests settling into cocktail hour by the water while you slip away for a few sunset portraits.
The venue rental includes a reception tent and getting-ready space in the house, which gives you a starting point for imagining the day. Picture getting dressed with your favorite people, then gathering for dinner beneath the tent. The Gadsden House

Cannon Green
Cannon Green is a fun place to start if you want a downtown celebration with greenery and a good dinner at the center of it. The courtyard and indoor Trolley Room give you two distinct settings to work with. You can picture an outdoor ceremony or cocktails, followed by an evening of dinner and dancing inside.
